HELLO, BALTIMORE!!

RONIT PINSKY AND DOR TRAINIC

Hi! We’re Dor and Ronit, the new ASSOCIATED: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore Shinshinim. We are thrilled to come to America and to be a part of your community. We wanted to tell you a little about ourselves:

Dor: I enjoy music. I play the guitar – mostly tunes from the ‘50s and ‘60s. I’ve been involved in the Ashkelon Scouts for many years. Now, I serve as a counselor for the younger children. I take them on trips and I plan their programs. I’ll be honest in telling you, I don’t know much about Baltimore. However, I am very excited to learn. I also want to teach you about Israel and the many things we have here; Israel is not just camels in a desert!

Ronit: I love to cook … and eat! I’m also a vegetarian. I was born in Ashkelon, but my parents moved to Israel from Belarus around 21 years ago. I am an active volunteer with Magen David Adom (the Israeli Red Cross). I’ve heard a lot about America from my friends, mainly that everything there is very big – big malls, big houses, just everything big. I can’t wait to arrive in Baltimore – though I will only arrive there in October – so I can play a role in strengthening the ties between America and Israel.

Shalom!
